"Housing and community regeneration is central to improving the lives of the people of Wales, particularly those from the most disadvantaged communities. We believe everyone should have the opportunity to live in a good quality home within a secure and safe community. Our vision for Wales calls for strong, safe communities that people will want to live in now and in the future"

The development of new affordable homes can play an important role in regenerating disadvantaged communities. Similarly, improvement of the physical environment – the space in between the homes – offers remarkable opportunities to address community cohesion, community safety issues and to engage in a meaningful way with local people.
