Lindsey Williams, Director of Communications for the WCVA and Consortium Member of the Leading Wales Awards said, "The voluntary sector demands a lot from those who take on, or aspire to, a leadership role. Voluntary sector leaders operate in a complex environment that requires the negotiation of donors, trustees, staff, volunteers, governmental bodies, public opinion, media, beneficiaries and service users, and partnership working with both public and stakeholder communities. The Leading Wales Awards have revealed the wealth of leadership talent in this sector, which we are delighted to recognise and reward."
Phillipa Knowles, Communications Manager at CHC said: " Nick's leadership skills have transformed Community Housing Cymru (CHC) into a forward facing, proactive organisation with a highly motivated and committed staff team. He has worked tirelessly for CHC and the movement and has allowed us to gain new respect, admiration and support within the sector. Nick does not need an award to prove his leadership qualities, as the success of his skills is clear for all to see. However, all staff have backed this submission as we want to publicly celebrate our leader, Nick Bennett."
Barbara Chidgey, spokesperson for the Leading Wales Awards commented: "Once again, we’ve had a fantastic response to our request for nominations, with nominations from right across Wales and from all walks of life. In these challenging financial times it has been inspirational and heart warming to read of so many individual people whose leadership is making a real difference here in Wales. Our finalists have all made an impact with their leadership and we are delighted to be able to recognise and celebrate their success with these awards."
Winners will be announced at a lunch ceremony on the 26th of February at The Hilton Hotel, Cardiff.
