Training Description:
WHY YOU SHOULD ATTEND
Staff or committee members who have recently joined a housing association can find the wide range of policies, regulations and jargon a minefield. This course will help to simplify the role and activities of housing associations as well as de-mystifying some of the jargon.
TARGET GROUP
Staff and Committee Members who have recently joined a housing association and\or people from other organisations who wish to have an understanding of how the ‘Movement’ works. This is a basic course and assumes little prior knowledge of the Housing Association movement.
COURSE AIMS
To provide participants with a wider understanding of the role housing associations play in providing social housing in Wales.
COURSE CONTENT
By the end of the course participants will have:
- Examined the importance of involving customers in the provision of social housing
- Identified the key financial and legal issues facing housing associations
- Discussed the history and governance of housing associations
