Board Members as Leaders

Key Issues to Take On Board

• Create space for networking – and space for delegate led discussions.
• Create space for chairs to have space to discuss issues that they are facing
• Have the 2 day event designed so that:
• Each day works well; as a distinct time: the session for Shadow Boards works well on its own.
• The need to welcome new shadow board members and new transfer organisation board members.
• Use as an opportunity to reenergise the CHC Board Member network - to make it relevant and accessible to shadow board members.
• To launch an online member support service that will:
• Do a survey of the IT skills of members and what IT resources they have access to
• Links to key websites
• Have as much info on line about good governance and best practice – free downloads toolkits and case studies
• Have as much information on line as possible
• For transfer/shadow transfer boards - info on where each local authority is at.
• Sample documents – e.g. offer documents, publicity information
• Names/contacts so members can make independent contact out side meetings
• Have a practical library and IT workshop area with PCs/laptops - to introduce delegates to on line resources: get them pass words – and how to log in packs to take away – so they leave connected to an on line network
